Same as Jet - ours has just died after about 80 days UK use over 9 years (and we\'re not usually blessed with the best weather on our hols). The fly material failed absolutely this year - split in loads of places. Will try Vango without much hope.

I also thought this tent was great after I bought and first used it for for camping in the highlands, I even commented to my wife that we might never need to buy another tent ( we only camp a couple of weeks a year) then things started to go wrong the porch area shrank leaving a 4inch gap at the bottom letting the midge and weather in. The next season it go even worse little spilts started appearing in the flysheet which I patched up, but eventually the integrity of the fly material broke down resulting in rips from top to bottom. I contacted Vango as the tent had a lifetime guarantee and waited, no reply, so I sent the tent back, they sent it back to me with no communication at all, inconclusion I would of been better off buying a new cheap tent every year than spending £250 on that excuse for a tent, poor qualiity materials, worthless guarantee.
This is a brilliant tent. It is a very robust tent ideal for taking young people into the mountains for duke of edinburgh’s award. It claims to be a 3 person tent. However, it can easily fit 4. It has a MASSIVE porch area which is ideal for rucksacks and the safest option for bad weather cooking I have ever seen.
In bad weather it is really strong. Even though it is a tunnel tent it does have the patented TBS system to give it extra strength. This means that when side winds start to bow the poles you can tighten the straps and give them extra support.
It can be pitched quickly with practice, although it has a lot of straps everywhere. They tend to get a bit tangled, this is annoying when the rain is pouring down and you just want to get it pitched and dinner going. It is a heavy tent, but it is well worth it for reliability.
