I have the remains of a hyperspace and it was very good until the outer disintegrated due to UV. The material just became brittle and fell apart. I have a much older Fjallraven (32 years!) that has been to the Antarctic and to Africa and still going strong. I would say that it was the high UV of Africa that destroyed the outer in a month. Yes bomb-proof in high winds - a night at Langdale when 15 tents out of 72 survived a furious gale and 9 where terra Nova/ Wild Country but not good value if a tent of this price is so prone to UV.

Extremelly strong tent and confortable. Bombprooved in arctic tempests and with a lot of snow. Not the lightest but probably the strongest. Used as well as familly tent for hiking in the alps with two adults and two (small) childeren.
After several years of use, the flysheet is no more reliable enough for high winds or strong use. This is due to UV effects on the nylon. The price to replace it is much too expensive (350 euro!) to be considered as a real solution. It is nearly the price of many other tents. The current version of the flysheet (silicone on the outer side) might be more resitant to UV, however.

A familiar sight on expedition basecamps around the world, but equally at home as a reliable family shelter, the Hyperspace offers a perfect blend of strength, space and weight.
