+ I CAN ANSWER! HAS ANYONE GOT INSTRUCTIONS FOR A ROBERT SAUNDERS SATELLITE..not plus..
+ I CAN ANSWER TOO! hi there
can anybody tell me if the Robert Saunders Satellite plus pictches inner or outer tent first
Trevor replied: The Satellite Plus pitches flysheet first so is ideal for rainy British conditions. I\'ve had mine for 16 or 17 years and I can\'t think of anything at all I\'d change on it. It\'s very robust, simple to pitch and has a huge porch for the weight and pack size. I was thinking about buying a new tent simply because I\'ve had my Satellite for so long but I can honestly say that I\'ve not found one anywhere near as good so I\'ll stick with it for a few more years yet!
I have had a Satalite Plus for about 7 years, I bought it as a second, though I never found out why it was. Have had to do two minor patch reinforcement repairs at the top of the zips, and recently bought a replacement main pole, from Saunders, which was thicker than the original one, but works fine. This was a good move, because in August 2005 I used it for a solo four day hike in the Cairngorms. One day it blew 115 mph on Cairngorm (I was on another a few miles away) and that night it blew agale where I camped by Loch Echecan. The wind blew side on, but due to the low slung design, just passed over the tent, which survived the battering remarkably well.
Great tent!
I have had this tent for 15 years or so. Very tough, and huge front allows both space for packs and boots etc and still room to cook, so a little luxury. Very tough, and only had to have repaired once where a cow stepped on it!! Great service from Saunders and very cheap cost. If you want a light tent but still want space to move!! consider this tent closely!!
