26 years old this year ! Old enough to now have a mortgage and a pension scheme. A liitle tlc last year - repairs and cleaned and waterproofed-responded by being as good as new. Just the dogs bannanas. Loads of room- storage at both ends. Have used the flysheet on its own and managed to squeeze four people in bivi bags. I still think this tent takes some beating and everyone I have lent it to or seen it thinks it is great.

The base camp ist just an excellent tent. We use it now for 15 years on motorbike trips as well as on trekking and bike tours - at the sea and in the mountains. It is light weight, easy to handle, very stable and we had never problems with ist all these years. Since 7 years its our childrens tent on our family bike tours. We have several tents of different sizes, but the base camp is definitely the best of all of them.

I have purhased so many tents over the last 25 years- and I keep packing this one ! It is just so good. I have got fatter though so squeezing past the vertical poles is more difficult. I would not want to try and put it up in a strong wind, however once it is up it is brilliantly stable- the two porches and the stability are spot on. It is just a classsic, clever design from one of the best tent companies ever.
The Base Camp is a good traditional looking tent. I have had one for about 20 years and it has served me well. The fly sheet is put up first then the inner tent, this is done by two hooks on rubber attached to the fly sheet, one at each end by the poles, then the corners are pegged out using guy ropes.
The storage in the tent is superb, use one end to get in and out and use the other end as storage and cooking should the weather be bad, plus you have the option of having the doors open in different ways.
It did get damaged on a server gale in Edale, I sent it back to Saunders for repair and it was done very quickly and is now stronger than ever.
All in all I am very pleased with the tent.
