+ I CAN ANSWER TOO! I am looking to buy our first tent (have never been camping before) and wondered if any-one could recommend a deluxe family tent , have looked at Hartford XL and XXL and have read mixed reviews on both , we really want comfort and luxury and plenty of living space, is the Hartford a good tent for first timers or should i be looking at another make or model any help or advice would be appreciated.
Angel replied: For first timers this tent might be too big, and take a while to set up, but you can always practice before you go on holiday in a park or something. But regardless I like the XL anyway!
+ I CAN ANSWER TOO! hi,
can someone please tell me how to stop the bedrooms sagging on hartford xl.Am i pitching the inner correctley!!
Thanks Richard.
samc replied: Velcro would I think be the best answer without you stitching in into the inner lining itself.
+ I CAN ANSWER TOO! which 3 bedroom 9/12 person tent would you recommend/full integral groundsheet
rich replied: Hi,just bought the hatford xl second hand used it twice and its brilliant.had bad weather last weekend it was strong
waterproof,me personally think its stonger than the new model cos you put inner up first peg it then fly sheet over and peg again.
we have a hartford xl and the pitch size needed is 7.5 m square other than this it pitches in 30mins and is a fantastic family tent but as ours doesn\'t have a porch its a bit antisocial as it is quite closed in

Paul, you will struggle in the average French pitch with this tent. They are tight and meant for big squarish frame tents, small touring tents or trailer tents. The spread out nature of the XL and the room you\'ll need beyond that will mean you\'re better off going to an open field site if you can find one near where you want to be.
I have an XL and love it! Loads of room, watertight and very stable. The Outwell homepage has diagrams with dimensions so check there, just remeber to add a metre or so each side for your guy lines!
A more open sight should be easy enough to find on \'tinternet, you can usually pitch anywhere you like and have the advantages of a bit more distance from your neighbours or pitching a few tents together if you\'re in a group.
If you want to be near Paris or Eurovomit, I mean Disney, try Crecy La Chapelle.
Hello. Anyone know the minimum area we need to pich our Hartford XL? Looking to go to France and the pitches look abit tight!

Extending the Hartford L further gives us the XL a tent that gives an additional third sleeping cabin at the rear this can be a kids only bedroom or simply as great extra storage keeping the living area clear of your gear. The third side cabin has a separate rear entrance allowing additional ventilation if needed. For a tent of its size it is still very stable due to the design and many guy points with pre attached guy ropes.
