Munro90 says : Having used this tent in northern scotland last year (and intend to do so again this year) I think some of the reviews here have been uncharitable. Only the second night i used this tent we were caught up in quite a storm and even though we were low in the valley other tents in our party buckled. The AR ultralite however stood strong. Ok so it rattles and is buffeted but so do all non-geodesic tents in those conditions. Despite that we got a good night\'s sleep even with having to squeeze a third member in whose tent had failed. The fabric is adequately strong and though my initial impression of the groundsheet was that it seemed flimsy its stood up to everything fine and the bathtub works just great. The porches as someone else said are large enough for a big hiking rucksac (My tent mate had a 60l macpac which fit in fine) and boots and wet aterproofs etc. I think the guys could be longer for greater stability(something i may see to before i next go away) and it requires some care to pitch well. My top tip to users would be to get a treking pole and use it as a lifter (like you would for a tarp) on the central guy on the large side. This pulls the flysheet away from the inner preventing and condensation dripping through. One of the best features is on warm nights you can zip the top of the doors down making a \"chimney\" to reduce condensation while still keeping the tent rainproof. Overall not perfect but ultralight, very spacious and a tiny pack size

Don says : Hi, I have an ultalite that came without poles, but I wish to use with bike and not carry trekking poles. Anyone know where I can buy poles for this tent?

Bean says : Mine folded in a stiff wind, low in the Cairngorms! Made a couple of mods to combat the problem but not tested yet. Use 2 guy lines on each pole, bought 4 clamps that grip the outer tent material and can be pegged out when the weather gets a bit rough, next to no exra weight. Repace the pegs for ones that will not bend and keep the supplied ones for skewars.

tparty says : I have just bought an AR 2(!) two person tent. These are my first night impressions. The package is good quality, extremally light, sized my Prolite 4 sleeping mat. After opening there are clear instructions, big repair kit containing fabrics, pole repair tube and glue, poles (divided into 4 pieces each) and pegs in nice fabric bags. After reading the instructions decided to try it. Setting the tent is simple and quick. Poles are strong and light, I have never seen so good lightweight pegs (!), the fabric is like a paraglider Porcher Marine 44 (looks the same), floor simmilar but slightly thicker (does not look stronger though). Proper tension of all surfaces requires a lot of work, with average result. Qality of make is superbe. Zips and loops are fine, apart from top door and front peg hooks- some hard to open plastic (does not look reliable). After all work done, the tent is larger than I tought. A luxurious single or a reasonable for two, comfortable to seat (I am 6 ft tall). Space for 50l backpack + boots behind each dors. Poles are not vertical, but wider below (more stability and space). Not enough space for feet in front. Stability good for a lite tent, poor for a regular. In wind like 10 m/s causes a lot of noise, movement and no shape is mantained, however still stable inside. A few additional peg loops would certainly help. Wind direction is crucial. If set the steep part towards wind, works great. Water resistance is good (tested with garden shower). Water can be rubbed in, but dries up within minutes on the wind. Floor is too gentle, single use (I bet), if set on stones or in the forrest (with no footprint). Great design as far as doors, poles placement ,vents are concerned. Overall, a good tent. Not for windy weather.
