The meduim stove kept the tipi warm enough, but a large stove would probably have been better under those conditions. I have used the tipi with 4 people plus all our gear (packs, etc inside) and the stove. It was a little tight but workable. I believe I could comfortably fit 5 people without gear but with the stove in the 6-man tipi. Plan to try it out that way this winter.
