New asks : im new to buying tents but id like to know some recommendations, id like something i could use in extreme weather

mully mulliner says : This tent can take a little bit of time to put up but my god once up nothing will blow or push it down. I have a many tent mainly hilleburg and they are better and quicker to set up but never as strong as the vortex it is the rock of all tents.

mR C says : The vortex is great in the wind and rain but the groundsheet has let me down! Lots of moisture comes through on waterlogged ground even tho it boasts a 10,000mm HH.

Gog says : After being blown away in my MSR Fury at 6000m me and a mate scrambled into an unused vortex (Climbers were on the wall) we spent two nights in the most foul weather. winds of constant 65mph and nearly a meter of snow we have decided to replace the fury with this tent. Its like a Terra Nova Quasar on roids. Get one its bullet proof. No doubts in my mind that it is THE tent to get.

jockmcallister says : Oh yeah, most importantly these castles are pretty cheap. My older model was around £100 on ebay in excellent nic and you can get a new one on the web for anything from £220 to £300. Must cheaper than the Terra Nova.
